Handmade Chocolate, Created from Bean to Bonbon

Chokoholic is the work of self-taught artisan chocolate maker and chocolatier Jamie Wake. Relaunched as a small, independent chocolate business, Chokoholic creates distinctive handmade chocolates in carefully produced batches, combining traditional craftsmanship with creativity, flavour and a genuinely personal approach.

The Chokoholic STORY

A Chocolate Business Built on Craft and Curiosity

Chokoholic was founded and run by Jamie Wake - a self-taught artisan chocolate maker and chocolatier who has built a chocolate business driven by curiosity, patience and a genuine love of the craft. Every product is made by hand, in small batches, with close attention paid to flavour, texture and finish.

As Chokoholic relaunches, the business returns to the products and techniques that shaped it: bean-to-bar chocolate made from cocoa beans, handmade truffles, bonbons and filled chocolates crafted from couverture, and bespoke creations designed around particular ideas and occasions. Nothing is mass-produced. Every item is made in small batches, with the same care, creativity and attention to detail that have always defined Chokoholic.

Two Sides of the Same Passion

Chokoholic brings together two distinct chocolate-making disciplines: creating chocolate from the cocoa bean and transforming high-quality couverture into finished chocolate creations. Both demand skill, patience and a thoroughly hands-on approach, from developing flavour and texture to tempering, moulding, filling and finishing every piece by hand.

Bean-to-Bar Chocolate

Bean-to-bar chocolate begins with the cocoa bean itself. Jamie sources cocoa beans and carries out the full chocolate-making process: roasting, cracking, winnowing, grinding, refining and tempering - producing bars of chocolate made entirely from scratch. Every variable, from the bean's origin to the length of the roast, shaped the flavour of the final bar.

Couverture Chocolate Creations

As a chocolatier, Jamie uses high-quality couverture chocolate to create handmade truffles, bonbons, Easter eggs, filled chocolates and bespoke commissions. Couverture provides a refined starting point; the craft lies in the preparation of fillings, the precision of tempering, and the care taken in every hand-finished detail.

Every Piece, Made by Hand

Chokoholic never uses mass-production methods. Every chocolate - whether a small truffle, a polished bonbon or a large bespoke Easter egg - is made individually, in small batches, by hand.

That approach means that no two batches are ever identical. Small differences in the tempering, the finish or the decoration are part of what makes each product genuine. Handmade variation is not a flaw - it is the point.

From the cocoa bean to the finished bonbon, every stage of production is carried out with care. That commitment to craftsmanship is central to everything Chokoholic makes.

The Maker Behind Chokoholic

Jamie Wake - Self-Taught Chocolate Maker and Chocolatier

Chokoholic is the work of one person. Jamie Wake taught himself the craft of chocolate making through experimentation, practice and an ever-deepening understanding of cocoa. He is both a chocolate maker - working from the cocoa bean to produce chocolate from scratch - and a chocolatier, using couverture to create truffles, bonbons and bespoke commissions.

The distinction matters. A chocolate maker transforms raw cocoa into chocolate. A chocolatier uses finished chocolate as their medium. Jamie works across both disciplines, which gave Chokoholic an unusual breadth of product and a genuine depth of knowledge about chocolate at every stage.
